every Thanksgiving and Christmas and other important occasions
3 C unsifted flour
2 tsp salt
3 TBL sugar
1 pkg yeast
1 tsp sugar
1/2 C warm scalded milk
1 well beaten egg
1/3 sqluare melted butter
1 C scalded milk
While the milk is scalding, set the yeast in a 1/2 C warm water with a tsp sugar- cover. Beat the egg, add warm milk to yeast mixture and egg to sifted dry ingredients and stir smooth. let rise 1 hr in warm place. Pour out on well floured surface and pat out with hands. Spread well with butter. fold over in half. Pat again and cut with biscuit cutter. Dip 1/2 in melted butter and place on pan to rise. Bake 12- 15 min at 425 – 450.
