Candy Cane Cookies

Mix together:

1 C soft shortening

1 C powdered sugar

1 egg

1 1/2 tsp almost extract

Sift Togehter:

2.5 C flour

1 tsp salt

Mix all both above mixtures together. Divide dough in half and add red food coloring to 1/2 the mixture. Make a 1 tsp rope of each color and twist into a candy cane shape.

Bake at 375 for 9 min till lightly browned.
