Monkey Bread

I got this recipe from a friend in the ward that we lived in in Midvale just before Derek was born. It has been a family favorite since that time.

2 C luke warm water

1 TBL salt

1/2 C sugar

1 pkg dry yeast

Directions:

Mixthe above and set aside for 5-10 minutes. Beat 2 eggs and add to mixture, add 3 C flour and beat well with a wooden spoon. Add 4 C flour and stir till absorbed. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise 2 hours till doubles in size. Punch down and let rise again Melt 1 cube of butter and pour into the bottom of a round tube pan. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with a 2 inch cookie cutter Stack on end after dunking in butter to keep rounds from sticking together (I use a copper mold pan, then a loaf pan to finish the dough). Let rise 3-5 hours (if refrigerated overnight cover well with aluminum foil) bake a 400 degrees for 20 min. Melt a 2nd cube of butter and pour over the top of the bread before turning the form pan upside down onto a large plate to serve.
