Chinese Almond Cookies

1 C butter

2 1/2 C sifted flour

1/2 tsp BP

1/2 tsp salt

1 C sugar

1 egg lightly beaten

2 tsp almond extract

almond halves

Cut butter into sifted dry ingredients. add egg and extract and blend well. Shape into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press almond half on top of each ball pressing in slightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 min. To freshen or crisp cookies. place in oven at 170 degrees for 10 min.
